Airlines Ban Power Banks

Singapore Airlines and Scoot announced that will prohibit passengers from using or charging power banks in-flight with effective 01 April 2025. This comes after a series of cabin fire incidents in the last three months on carries such as Batik Air and Air Busan.
Here are the airlines that have moved to ban both the use and charging of power bank onboard.
Singapore Airlines & Scoot:
Effective 01 April 2025, Singapore Airlines’ passengers will not be allowed to charge portable power banks via the onboard USB ports, or use power banks to charge personal devices, throughout the duration of the flight.
Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings:
Effective 01 April 2025, all passenger travelling with Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings will not be allowed to charge or use power banks throughout the flight. Power banks must be carried with passengers at all times and should not be placed in the overhead compartments, may store in carry-on bag under the seat or store in the seat pocket in front. Magnetic wireless charging power banks must be kept in a separate bag or protective pouch to prevent unintentional activation.
Thai Airways:
Effective 15 March 2025, Thai Airways’ passengers will not be allowed to use or charge power bank (spare batteries) during the entire flight on all Thai Airways flights.
EVA Air:
From 01 March 2025, the use and/or charging of power banks and spare lithium batteries will be prohibited throughout all EVA Air-operated flights.
China Airlines:
From 01 March 2025, China Airlines’ passengers departing from Incheon Airport must cover the power banks with insulating tape or protective covers or placed in transparent zip-locks bags or protective pouches, and carried on person or placed in the seat pocket in front.
